Hawk Hunting
CONTEXT
Kyle had the unique opportunity to work on an editorial stills photography project for Virginia Living Magazine, documenting the fascinating world of hawk hunting in Virginia. Over a year, he followed a Red-Tailed Hawk named Oden and his handler, capturing their deep bond and intricate collaboration as they worked together in the art of falconry.
APPROACH
The project also involved photographing various members of the Virginia Falconers Association (VFA) in a studio setting, showcasing them alongside their majestic birds. Each image aimed to tell the story of the dedication, skill, and mutual respect that defines the falconry tradition in Virginia.
RESULTS
The resulting photographs were featured in a comprehensive spread in Virginia Living Magazine, and the project was later highlighted in Adweek for its compelling storytelling and striking visuals. This collaboration reflects Kyle's expertise in capturing authentic, impactful imagery that brings unique stories to life as an editorial Photographer.
